Traveling chores are in order this weekend while Billie is visiting her Mom. One of the pleasures of traveling in groups is suppertime! Most times we cook, with different couples being responsible for the main dish each night. We all have some different backgrounds--Claude spent time in South America and Wishbone has Texas in his blood, for instance, and it shows in our meals. I grew up in the Pee Dee area of South Carolna--it looks like a local favorite, chicken bog, is in our future!
Cooking the chicken ahead of time is one of todays chores. The chicken and broth will be frozen and the bog finished up the night we eat it. If you don't know about chicken bog and are interested, google it, plenty of info and recipes out there. Our family never followed an exact recipe, just kinda winged it.
While working in the kitchen this morning, I was listening to James Taylor (has anyone heard his new album yet?) on youtube and came across this old favorite, live with the Dixie Chicks. Look close and you will see Adam Steffey on mandolin and Bryan Sutton on guitar.

Looking forward to meeting up in the morning and getting a photo of the wagon train headed to the West.
